It’s been a week and a half since I weighed myself in at 225 and began my dietary revolution. As of today (4/17/13), I weigh 221 and that’s not all.
Before I started I took Pepcid at least once a day and often times again during the night. As of today, I have only taken it once in the last week and a half. Also, I have only had one pop since I started and I think that has a lot to do with reducing my heartburn.
I have effectively tripled the number of vegetables in my diet and reduced my red meat to a fraction of what it has been in the past. I’ve also reduced my chocolate and junk food intake to less than a third of what it had been and I have avoided fast food almost entirely.
Finally, I have increased my fish intake from occasional to 2-3 times per week and my fruit intake from occasional to 1 piece daily. I realize that I have a long way to go and that these amounts aren’t what they need to be. However, I believe that they show a significant improvement and a solid start to what will eventually be a much healthier lifestyle.
